Before I make a dumb move I wanna know can I use a regular 2 way speaker in plade of the midrange of a component setup? I got a hold of 4 boston acoustic S85's for $40 and currently have a boston acoustics component setup in the front of my truck. I replaced the tweeters last year so they are great but the mids are both making that distored sound at mid-high volume like they are ready to go out and are atleast 8-9 years old now so theye were good while they lasted. Please any info will help the cons and the pros are what I would also like to hear. Thanx in advance!!!
