i never said that. I said in my application it was "noticibly (sp) louder" with the l7.

i bet that 9x out of 10 for the average person that doesn't know shit about audio (obviously you think that's me) the l7 will be louder against 1 type r.

the origional question was which would be louder...the one l7 or 2 type r's...typically.

i skipped a bit ahead and put a friends system in my trunk...got my answer. I was not expecting to do this.

We're done bud. Its all good. Im happy to hear you love your system. An l7 is just my sub of choice.... 15l7 for $160 is awesome deal though, I will say that. They're just not my cup of tea. Did you put the r's in another box or just try one and say fok it?

well, when i first got the car, i threw in 2 15" type r's...the old ones with an mtx 801d....way underpowered. so then I sold that to a friend. Went without subs for about 6 months. Finally got the new type r's...I was highly impressed by the sq...but thats really not what I'm after. I only tried the two boxes I had...I had a sealed one I built and the ported one that was built by a shop. The sealed hit crazy lows, but the ported was very very boomy. It would peak at about 38-42 hz and hit absolutely nothing below 30 and anything above 45 was garbage (which the type r's don't like higher freq) I hated the way the ported sounded so I just tried the friends setup of the l7. It's still a little boomy, but noticibly louder. I know the shop definetly tuned the box completely wrong. I doubt they even made box plans...they probably just threw it together. I'm eventually getting a ranger...have a setup of about 2-15's....pulling the airspace is going to be something else though. I really don't want to do a blowthrough....i have a plan for a dirtbike ( i was sponsered by axo and am possibly getting it again ) so....ehhh I need the truck bed. I think 2 kicker l7 15's in a custom ported (maybe go extreme w/ a tcab //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif ) with the two hifonics 1605d's running another battery in my bed/cab (i don't know what to do) with MULTIPLE runs of 0 gauge and fully upgraded elecs with a 200 amp alternator (of course big 3) and a red top up front and yellow top for the subs. I really don't want to run a cap...i have had bad experiences.
