2 Type-R SWR-1242D's with a RD Audio 1750.1?

Would that work well for the subs, or too much?

the RD Audio 1750.1 amp im looking at can do 2400rms daily at .5 ohm stable.

Would the 2400rms be too much for daily driving with my two Type-R SWR-1242D, they are the dual coal-4ohm model.

my alternative for an amp would be something in the $250-$300 range.

Dont get me wrong - the 1750.1 is a GREAT Amp, but even with 14.4 at .5, it's not going to put out 2400 RMS man.

You're looking close to 2k at half an ohm, more than likely. You'll be just fine with that amplifier at 1ohm on a set of Type R's. Good luck.

Yeah I probably would just run it at 1 ohm. Is RD a good choice though, or would i be better off with something like a sundown saz-1500 even though its about 100rms lower for each sub.

As long as u put them in the right enclosure and set the gains correctly then you shouldn't have any problems.

But you gotta think about it, you're gonna be pushing double rated power so u can't push them hard too often.

i dont know why you are talking about running the amp at 0.5ohms, but yes, that amp will be a perfect match for a pair of dual 4 ohm R's. Feed em about 700rms a piece, and put them in 4-5cu ft box @ 32hz

If you're talking about me, I was just using it to make a point. It's not going to make 2400rms at 14v.

To the other guy - - - RD and Sundown are very very similar, very true, some different parts. Either would be a great choice.

nah, it was directed at the OP, seeing as he isnt going to be running the amp at a .5 ohm load //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I am buying the amp from a guy on here, and he said he runs it at .5 ohm, and he asked the guy he bought it from if it was okay to run that daily before he did. So apparently you can run it, according to him.

I won't anyway though, I'm going to run it at 1 ohm

Thats prolli the best idea, a bunch of amps are quite stable @ .5ohms like this one but the amount of current @ .5 ohms is usually a good amount more than @ 1ohm.

Unless u absolutely have to because of impedance issue w/ current woofers u have, i wouldn't run it @ .5ohms
