2 Tidal Audio 10s vs 1 JL W6 12

I should, I've only been doing this hobby for 20+ years.
Like I said they always say that.

I've set the slope anywhere from 6 to 24 db per octave. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference. .05 cubes isn't going to make any difference in a sealed application. The spec sheet I got with these drivers says they can be used in ported or sealed applications (obviously, or they wouldn't give sealed enclosure size recommendations).
.05 cubes will make a difference. Besides been doing this for 20 years should have taught you that manufacture enclosure recommendations are garbage.

If you want the best, you gotta pay for it....
Fucking best thing you have said yet. JL blows.

Lulz I think you have proven your 20 years of experience was bullshit and you didnt learn a damn thing.

I can see this site has gotten worse instead of better. I should've known better than to look for advice here....
The issue now is that you have 20 years of experience, which is clearly a lie, so you think you know everything and disregard all of the advice youve been given.

You're right, I did lie. I actually got started in car audio in 1979, so that's over 30 years. Secondly, I obviously DON'T think I know everything or I wouldn't have asked the question. Thirdly, I'm still waiting for someone to answer my original question. In case you don't know what that is, read post #1.

You clearly dont. You simply have no clue.

The subs arent in the proper enclosure. Thats your problem.

So it's my fault I put the subs in an enclosure that was recommended by the company that made the subs? That doesn't say much for the company if they can't recommend the proper enclosure for their own sub. I bet JL's subs will work well in the enclosures they recommend for their subs.

Actually JL grossly under rates their enclosure recommendations. Most companies do that in an attempt to prevent abuse and warranty claims. Again you would know that if youve spent 30 years doing this.

If this is true, then why has every enclosure that was either recommended by, or built by JL sounded so good with their subs? I suppose you're going to say I don't know what I'm hearing either?

Nope. What sounds good to you may not sound good to me. Its all subjective. However based on TSP's JL recommends smaller than optimal enclosures.

Before you go spending money on overpriced JL why dont you try out a few things first.

1. Try a different enclosure. A larger sealed enclosure or a ported enclosure.

2. Tune from the HU rather than the amp. Try 63Hz with a 24db slope.

Now what HU are you running? What settings do you have for treble, bass, etc.? And this hasnt been mentioned yet, but did you match your gains on the amp to the HU?
