Ok. I just bought 2 sony xplode subs, and a kenwood 600 W amp. I have a 94 Buick Regal with only a factory tape player in it with no RCA cable. I want to put this stuff in for short term until i get a new car. i havent done this type thing before

I have some questions.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was told that the speakers in the car already (the factory ones) have to be hooked up to the amp and then back to the tape player or just splice the wires. What would be a better way to go?

Also i was wondering if i could just hook up the amp, hook up the subs to the amp, and not bother with the speakers that are already hooked up to the tape player. will it work that way? i havent did this before like i said to ur help would be great.

Thanks

Anyother ideas please pass them through //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

you could buy another amp around 100x2 watts and buy a new decent set of 6 by 9's then you take the wires going into the back speakers cut an rca cord in half put it into your sub amp then hook up 2 more rca cords to the outputs of the sub amp and put them into the other amp turn the hpf on the second amp and there you go.

(this is only if your sub amp has 2 outputs if not i recomend buying a pioneer 480 watt amp it will do 120 x2 into 4 ohms your 6by9's and then take the outputs on the pioneer amp and hook it up into your sub amp it will work that way to)

only turn the valume on the amp 1/2 to 3/4 of the way

Hey thanks

I think i might try that. ill either do that with my money or just buy a cd player i can put in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I recommend wiring to the 2 ohm load on the amp you stated you have, or you can wire to an 8 ohm load for amp stability. You can wire one sub to...
