(2) SSA Dcon vs SA-12

I have been talking with him via PM for a bit. I think the SA is the best choice for a few reasons. One he already has it no reason to sell it just spend more money to get something else when what he has will work. Two, future proofing is always key. Being in college ***** your funds away for sure, but it does the same for everyone. So it would not surprise me if you find a deal at some point for a bit larger amp. All you would have to do is hook the amp up and go. You would notice a nice increase in performance over just a few hundred watts.

As for saying the SA will **** at low power, I don't see that. I have played with many subs and yes stiffer subs do not do as well on low power as a softer suspension sub, but that does not mean the stiffer sub will just be horrible.

So why does eveybody on here run 1/0 wire to power a 1kw amp? Seems like a waste of money.
because they also have 4 channel amps running off the same wire and to be ready for an upgrade in the future thats why I did it and I was lucky I did since I had to upgrade. Yes as pro-rabbit has said it wont sound horrible it just wont be that loud.

I didn't know he already had the SA, but I still stick with the nonefficient sa ******* at low rms. There is a difference between stiff and not being efficient, the 9500 is very stiff but still out performs the SA on 100rms even.

Yea, I would give you that. However, with talking to him it is evident that if something where to fall in his lap to up the power he would more then likely go for it. You can tell he will want more regardless of what he will do. With that in mind I think the SA gives more of a future setup as well as today.

Using 300rms as temp makes much more sense then running it full time as his post made it seem.
Yea, his money is tight for sure and he might be using 300rms for a week or a few months. But as we all know when payments for students are required things go for sale at stupid low prices. Which is a good thing for him.

I just bought an Sa-12, I'm kinda in the same boat as you but plan to run more around 500rms to the sub. I've ask others and they have said the sub will do fine off of that power but idk for sure.

I say since u have the subs, run it at 300rms, u can always save over time and upgrade amps. I'm limited by stock electrical, if ur not, get something bigger in the future.
