2 runs of 8ga. with a single 8ga. fuse holder? possible?

You should fuse each wire because nothing says they have to carry the same current load. So in theory, your fuse wouldn't blow but you could still burn up one of the wires. Best bet would just be to run a single run of bigger wire. But if you don't want to, then fuse them separately.

Ok. Each 8awg power run will be fused separately. 2 runs from the bat under the hood back, and 2 runs of 8awg for my amp's ground. I have also upgraded my 12awg speaker wire with 8. Plan on doing it as soon as I hit the hardware store for some terminals.

Running 8 awg from the front battery to the rear is to small, because you will see more voltage drop due to the small wire. 8 awg can handle the current your system will pull, it is just that when you max out the ability of a given wire size, you are going to heat up that wire much more than the next sized wire would under the same load. When you heat up wire, you are wasting power. Hence, lower voltage.

Running two 8 awg wire would be better than a single run, but a single run of 4 awg would be the best option.

Would've loved to do a single run of 4awg but I have NO cash really at all. The second 8awg section/fuse holder was just sitting around.

I did the second run yesterday and I definitely notice a difference in power output, it didn't take long to do and I am happy with the outcome.

Sometimes you gotta do with what you have. I am always trying to give the best advice about how to do things by the book. Just like anything else in life, there are sometimes more than one way to do things. There is usually one best way and many other OK ways. I am sure that your way would work fine, it is just not the best way to do it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
