2 RE SE or 1 RE SX For Rock music??

I am trying to make up my mind on getting 2 SE's or 1 SX, both 12". The SE's will see 600 RMS a piece or the SX will get 1200 RMS. I am currently running 1 SE in a sealed box and it is not enough. I am looking for the nice fast, punchy pop in your chest so should I run it sealed still or go ported?? If i go ported, what is the best tuning frequency for Rock?? I have been going sealed for a while, and it just does not seem to be giving me what I want, but I do not know if this is due to having only 1 SE. I do listen to rap every now and then, but I want to tailor this for Rock music instead.

Try anonther SE and give them that 1200 watts. Seeing how your giving the one 600. That should sound good on some rock. The SX is more spl geared, so you would want a nice ported box for that, but dont think you would sound to good on rock, then again most is install dependent.

i dont have one but have heard one and it sounded nice, but i think the SE sound better for the tight rock beats

i have a 12" sx and it sounds alright on rock. not the best but definately not bad at all. tuned a little higher im sure it'd sound even better on rock as mine is tuned to 32 hz.

yea all the SX i have heard have been tuned low so that may be why.

I think the sealed would give u better punch in sound, but I cant really help u on the subs, since I havn't head any of the RE stuff play music (heard DB drags).

Helotaxi on this board just helped me build a box for my boat, for a 12" SX ~2.0 ft^3 net, tuned to 35hz, powered by a RE 35.1 (1500 RMS), not gonna be an enclosed area but through it in my car this morning and it sounded good, still hit the lows pretty **** good but not as loud as the XXX of course. Through some rock in as that is what I am going to listen to in the boat and sounded good.
