(2) RE Audio 10" SX's in a 4th order bandpass ported through the rear deck of a Lexus GS300 with a 6" Aero Port powered by a Hifonic BXi-2010D on a Kinetik HC2400 in the rear and a red top Optima up front, 1/0 gauge Kicker power cable.

1.6cuft for sealed section

2.3cuft for ported section

I guess due to the nature of the 4th order design even with the tuning of the ported section being 45hz this setup hits the lows like crazy and peaks at 30hz.

The bass is super smooth and very very deep, it's the smoothest and best sounding bass I've heard!

No trunk rattle is awesome, 4th order's ported through the rear deck FTW!!!

I'll get some more vids up later, any requests...

Very nice bro, its times ive considered something like this to keep my trunk, since I have the GF and the baby in there with me alot of the time. Who did your bandpass design, 80 Inches?

Beautiful car by the way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I did the design myself using http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm

But I did call 80inches and he gave me a very good pointers, also Gmonkey gave me some numbers to start with for size of ported/sealed sections... Most 4th orders have the ported section where the front of the subs is, he told me to flip the subs so the motor is in the ported section which will help cool the subs. I'm glad I did it that way now I can play them longer without being worried.

I'm seriously considering doing this, since the last time I turned it up full tilt, it ripped the cone of the 6x9 in the trunk the subs were in half. How did you calculate that? Mine is a ported box inside of a trunk facing the seats, I would put a 4 or 6" port in the middle of the rear dash (Not sure what it's called) just like you have there. Is that what you are doing? Or what? xD

Hmmm, the RE logo is mounted upside down. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif If you flipped em the other way, I'm sure you'd gain a few deebeez //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Other than that, that ish slams. That's some crazy flex off two 10's. It's also nice that both sides of the woofer are enclosed and the port exits right through the deck. So no crazy pressure levels in the trunk making it sound like king kong wants out. I need to consider making my port go through the deck, the sheet metal and stamped trunk rib cage are slapping together and it's annoying as ****.

Nice build though. Glad to hear the bass is smooth and not a one note wonder like most bandpass pre-fab bullshit.

I would think that you would need more port area but from video it looks like it's moving pretty good air.
As long as you're not getting the flapping noise from the port at really low notes, then it's all good. Little more port area couldn't hurt, but then you'd need a longer aero and that might not have fit in the box the way it's positioned.

The 6" aero port sounds great, but I know exactly know what you mean I would have done a 10" aero for more port area, but it wouldn't work for (2) reasons...

*it's to wide to fit through the factory 9.25" cutout hole.

*the port would have to be 38" long, lol that def wouldn't work.
