Need an amp for my sub. At least 1000 watts rms, and one thats only stable down to 2 ohms. any good amp suggestions? let me know, im really looking right now.!

Its ALOT easier to find 1 ohm amps, but my sub is 2 ohms.

If i get an amp thats like 1500 watts rms (for instance) at 1 ohm at 2 it does like 800 or something. So i need one thats only down to 2 ohm, so i can use all the power efficiently. If i get one that does the watts i want at 2 ohms, but at 1 ohm it does more, il be paying for more power that i wont use and also just drawing more current.

also.. does anyone know on average how many watts a car battery can take while still running good (same battery that will be used for rest of electircal car needs)

LOL your question about the battery... 1000 @ 2 ohms shouldn't be too hard on any decent battery and at least a 100 amp alternator so you can run all the other stuff in your car and the sound system at the same time.

I think you are going to need an amp called a "Kicker" amp. Seems they are 2 ohm amps, though most people here try to run them at 1 ohm because they do more power at 1 ohm.... but they are not cheap either...

Other suggestion might be if your subwoofer has 2 voice coils... use a 500 watt x 2 amp. Class AB. Like a Rockford Fosgate 500.2, I think they do make one. Not sure on the price though...

Or a JL 1000/1, but again, price is high.

If I had to do 2 ohms, I would get a SAZ-2000D and have a really nice 1000+ x 1 @ 2 ohms. Or strap two smaller amps together, for 1000 @ 2 ohms, but I am not sure who if anyone makes strappable amps that are only 500 watts @ 1 ohm....

yea the kicker zx1000.1 would be a good choice. even a 750.1 wouldnt be too bad my birthsheet on my 750 is like 950 so they often do over rated power

db-r's suggestion on the saz 2000d is very good too. these are nice amps

thanks for the suggestions

ive had the kicker zx.1000.1 on 2 jl w3's, but its time for something new and BETTER. only thing thats keeping me from getting a good amp is my budget.

im trying to power a dvc 1ohm re mx, at a 2 ohm load, unless anyone knows of an amp that can run at .5? ive only seen like zapco, but those are expensive as hell.

i liked the sundown amp but their expensive also, anyone know where i can get them cheaper?

Check out our refurbished amps. Same amps, 1 year warranty. Less money. But if you are wanting a SAZ-2000D, none are availible in refurbished right now. There is a SAZ-1500D though I think, and it will do 800-1000 rms @ 2ohm depending on your impedance rise and your battery voltage. It will also run at .5 ohm but will likely tear your subs a new one with 1800 or so watts....

Audiopipe AP30001 will do 1800w RMS @ 4 Ohms 3000w RMS @ 2 Ohms And 1500w RMS X 2 @ 1 Ohm

Its a great budget amp that dose rated power and then some!!!! Also the gut shots are impressive for a $320-$330 amp. Below is a pic of one of mine!

I have a MMATS 1600.2 amp that is made specifically for 2 ohms. It is rated 1150 rms @ 2 ohm. Really great amp but since this is not the classified forum you can pm me if you want more info.
