2 l7's not what i expected

i just got another L7, got it hooked up and all , but its not what i expected, its not much louder just more "intense" i notice if there is anything at all on the seat or dash its instantly boucing around and everything shakes but i dont notice it being much louder at all, and i notice the volume act's kinda differntly , where as before i could turn it up to 20 to get max output now i can put it up to like 22-24 (being very careful though) and i cant tell when it distorts? with 1 l7 i could easily tell when im pushin it to hard , also sometimes it looks like both cones arnt in sync with each other @ full volume like one looks like its in mid-excursion while the other is all the way out.... just some things i noticed after upgrading

multiple sub setups will be somewhat outta sync. that's why dual chamber boxes are better cuz one is not pushing the other (esp if one is blown). also, you should reset your gains since you added another sub and maybe play with the frequencies some.

also each L7 is in its own chamber as well , i dont think there out of phase or ones blown but one is a factory refurb...

Sounds to me like cancellation. If one was out of phase, you would have a very noticable decrease in output. Try playing them with the trunk popped or the windows down and see if the difference is dramatic. You should probably hear a difference anyways, most every system has some cancellation, but it may be more dramatic than you think. If it is, try moving your box around.

Get a DMM to make sure both voicecoils on both subs are working correctly and to also check your gains. Do you have the amp wired down to 1ohm? I assume both subs are dual 4's?

Your problem is the amp.You had great power for one sub but now you arent really puttin anything on them if all you have is the 1500d.

exactly what i was thinking, at 2 ohms it was rated @ 1000 watts to 1 sub, so in reality mayby 700 watts , at 1 ohm its 1500 watts but in reality mayby 1000 watts? so im actually puttin less to each sub @ 1 ohm than just having it at 2 ohms running 1 sub

Bingo.........

Ive seen actual numbers of 841actual watts@1ohm from a 1500d on 12.71V and with clamp meter,so it was accurate.
