2 gauge vs. 4 gauge

I would like to run 2 12w6's of off a 1000w amp. I really want to get 2 gauge but the price jump between 2 gauge and 4 gauge is too much. I am looking at Tsunami 4 gauge (for $35), or Power Acoustik 2 gauge (for $55). And yes, that IS a big jump for me. I don't want my mom to know I am spending that much money and I have to buy online so she will see my bank statement.

So my question is, will 4gauge be bad to run a 1000w amp? Will the sound quality be sacrificed at all? But mainly, is it BAD.. like actually bad for the amp or battery?

4ga will be fine, if u plan to upgrade then go bigger now and get it over with....

good 4 ga is sufficient.

There will be no difference in sound between 2 ga and 4 ga.

GO BIGGER! i was thinking the same thing when i first started my stsem bought 4 awg. got a bigger amp ran bigger wire so on and so forth! its addicting! just go as big as you can afford put it that way!

i've seen that power acoustik 2g and my Streetwires 4 gauge was bigger.
