2 eclipse 9102 vs custom 15

ok so i've got a change to buy 2 bnib eclipse 9102 (i think that's the model number, they're the eclipse titanium 10's) for 250 bnib. i've already got a custom 15 built by ssackett during his black friday sale of last year. the only problem is i can only send 500 watts or so to each sub. what do you guys think should i get the eclipse? if 500 watts enough for those things? should i stick with what i've got?

Those subs like a lot of power, but they'll sound great with a clean 500 watts RMS a piece. If 500 watts is for the pair, I suggest you wait for an other amp. But these subs are amazing. If it's $250 for both, I suggest you pick them up!

no it's 250 fot both. the amp i have in question is a rockford fosgate 801s. rated at 800 watts, but it's really a lil over 1000

500 a piece will probably be enough if you put them in a big enough enclosure. For $250 though there's no way i would turn down the eclipses; you could resell them for more than that.

like PerfecxionX said, buy them. Build a box. You'll definitively fall in love with the sound they produce. If you don't like, resell. 500 watts a piece is very good so long as the amp stays out of clipping, even if those subs enjoy twice as much. Eclipse recommends 750 watts RMS & TC Sounds states they'll handle way over 1000 watts RMS for the same sub. I owned a pair of SW9122 twelves, and they could handle any amp they'll been tried on ranging from 600 watts RMS to 1500 watts RMS a piece.

No matter what you do, at $250 for both it's really a steal

I used to own an sw9152. It was one of my favorite subs. The only thing I dislike about the titaniums is their humongous surround, which makes for an undersized cone. The 15" had the same cone area as a JL 13w6v2. The cone area of the 10s is probably very small. You'd need to put them in a proper size enclosure and give them plenty of power, so they'll move enough to compensate for the lack of cone area.
