hey, so i want to upgrade my party boat to get a subwoofer and two speakers. however i want it to be pretty dam cheap. just needs to be loud so i can hear it above the motor. i found this amp http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/2841 which does 90 x 4 at 2 ohms and is also bridgable. if i used two of those channels for L and R speakers, could i bridge the remaining two channels together to get 180W at that same 2 ohms? if so how should i wire that up. any reccomendations are welcomed.

thanks

also what do you think will be the loudest subwoofer a pretty low price range. im thinking maybe some phoenix gold series or some random legacy series subwoofer. i just upd my car system to a Eclipse CD7000 w/ GPS, so i dont want to spend money on the boat... but still want something loud....for cheap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok, so i run a sub that runs about 200 watts at 4 ohms and speakers that can run 90 watts at two ohms. sounds good. how do i actually bridge an amp though? never had to on my amps in my car.

thanks for the help

you got a CD7000 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif ?

As for bridging, i believe its the left negative and the right positive you bridge.

yup, just ordered it from circuit city? the employees there get discounts...

thanks for the suggestions, so

channel one + and - to speaker

channel two + and - to speaker

channel 3 + to subwoofer

channel 4 - to subwoofer

then do you connect channel 3 - to channel 4's +?

if thats correct that thats pretty **** easy...

thanks a bunch, keep on with suggestions for the sub, ill look into the pioneer

i think id be underpowering the L5 a little bit too much. im really looking to spend as little as possible here so i dont want to upgrade the amp that much. also i get the 10" L5 brand new from kicker for 75 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks however.

any other suggestions?

Memphis PR's or kicker comp VR's both get loud given the input power. With around 200 watts the PR would be louder.

Maybe you could do a nice box as well?I can help ya in that department (completely or I could give you hints/suggestion/help).How much space ya got on that boat?

I'd check out the profile amps from ike sound.Cheap, reliable, will do rated power with 14.4v.

The amp of choice is a profile amp. however there is a new situation, my fried just game me is old Moblie authority A 1200, i can find much info on it, but it what i found says it does 300 x 2 a 4 ohms and is bridgable. so i may just use that and use a 2 channel profile amp for my sepakers.

if i were to bridge it to 600W than i think i may just get a kicker comp VR. i can obtain it for about $57 from kicker so i think thats my best bet.

thanks for the help

oh mountanieer man, i dont have much space on the boat, just a cubby about 14 x 14 x 15 so i figure about 1.7 cubic feet. that should be enough. id like to make it ported as well, maybe tuned to like 32hz to 35hz i have BB6 so i can design a box pretty dam easily.

thanks for the help though

you serious? can YOU get that woofer from them at that price, or anyone? i boguht it for 259 at a stupid retail store, which i dont expect back, but 75 is way low, i think for the woofer, it compares to RE se 10's easily, for less money.
