2 channel or mono amp?

Hi, i currently have a jl 300/4 amp wired to my speakers. I have a jl 10w0 sub and i need an amp for it. I went to futureshop and the sales suggest i use a 2 channel amp and brigde it because it works better for 1 sub. Some friends of my told me that it's better to use a mono amp for 1 sub. What should I get?

Whatever fits your budget and power/impedence needs for your sub the best.

if its a svc 4 ohm sub just get a 2 channel and cheaper, usually a lot cheaper than finding a mono amp to do the same power at 4 ohms.

I agree with Springy101. A 2-channel amp is also more flexible.
