Hi all. first post so bare with me....

I am currently running what is in my sig. i would like to replace the 2 2 channels (old school rockfords) running my component speakers to the newer power series amps (already have a T1000.1bd).

my question: i have found i can get a 2 channel amp (T5002) a heck of a lot cheaper than a 4 channel amp (T8004). what would i lose/gain (sound quality wise) by running the 2 sets of components off the 2 channel at 2ohms than running to each channel at 4 ohm on the 4 channel set up? will i lose any sound quality or just the ability to tune each set seperately??

TIA!!

why not get 1 badass set of comps and a good 2 channel? i don't see the benefit of having 2 sets of comps in a reg cab.
the comps were given to me in a trade so they didnt cost me anything....just want to know if i will lose anything in the sq department running them off a 2 channel as opposed to a 4 channel.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

do they really sound all that great now? seems like it would just be too much noise coming from about the same spot. if you want sq do badass comps in the kicks and call it a day with a nice 2ch

You lost the sq by having 2 sets of comps

they sound good to me....workes well with the 2 12" subs......ive got the ams turned down to about 1/4 gain so they match the subs nicely, neither overpowers the other.....

if you want SQ i still think that 1 set of comps is best bet. the 2 comps set up you have just seems like they would be distorting the sound and working against each other.

I would rather just run a front stage with a nice 2-Channel as well. In your desired situation.. Simply look at the specifications of the amps.

Rockford T8004:

50 W x 4 @ 4 Ohms RMS

100 W x 4 @ 2 Ohms RMS

200 W x 4 @ 1 Ohms RMS

200 W x 2 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS

400 W x 2 @ 2 Ohms Bridged RMS

Rockford T5002:

75 W x 2 @ 4 Ohms RMS

150 W x 2 @ 2 Ohms RMS

250 W x 2 @ 1 Ohms RMS

300 W x 1 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS

500 W x 1 @ 2 Ohms Bridged RMS

disconnect you kicks and listen to the doors. then vise versa and see which location offers you the best sound. if you don't really like either find a ne spot to put the new comps

yes they would be awesome if you get the right ones. and only put them in the kicks if you have your kicks set up with better sound imaging then the doors
the kicks are the Q-logic color matched for 6.5" but i have 5.25" in there now....well i guess i will start sellin some components and amps and see what i end up with to go get some new stuff....thanks for all the replies...
