2 aq sd2 12s, 2 IA187 12s, or one IA LI 15

Im doing a system for my cousin he wants it to be simple and cheap. i have never personally dealt with or owned anything from either AQ or IA but always hear good things about them both usually the upper level stuff.

we have 1200@2ohms and the largest box size, a little over 5cuft .

with that said which one or two would be the best for the $, any other good suggestions are welcome

With the SD2 12's they come in S4's which will give you a 2 ohm load, but I don't know how well they can take 1200 watts RMS as they have a 2" coil. The 187's have a 2" coil as well but they come in Dual 4's only, you could wire them into a 4 ohm load and get around 600-700 RMS out of the amp and it will run perfectly and you won't have to worry about having any issues with overpowering.

As far as the LI 15 you can get it in a Dual 2 and series it back to 4 ohms and will have the same power as you'd have on the 187's.

Either way it's your call, you have plenty of space for either one.

I will have news in the next day or so about the 2009 187's - they are about to go on presale as well. Expected release is right after we get back from CES, which is the 13th or 14th.

thanks for the input.

i gotta memphis 1000 that should work perfect with the 187s but i saw on ssa that they were sold out. would the one Li 15 have just as much or more output the the 187s with either amp

They are sold out as we are about to introduce the new 2009 187's in 3 weeks after CES!

I think the 2 187 12's would be louder in terms of output as there wil be more cone area.
