2 amps into protect

I've got 2 amps a Hifonics XZ7500 and a Jenson amp. Well long story short I was bumping on the drive to work and my sub amp went into protect. I figured it had just overheated so I turned off my HU to let it cool off and like 5 mins later when I turned the HU back on my speaker amp went right into protect. I've tested and found out that when the RCAs are plugged in is when it goes to protect.

Could the HU have sent a bad signal that fried the inputs on my amps or I've got a Pionner HU could the pico fuse have blown? I just got my new HU in the mail so I'm going to throw that in quick and hopefully that solves the problem but anyone have any ideas in the meantime?

take a DMM to the rca's and see if they are putting out AC power or DC. I have never heard of that model of Zeus amp but if it is in protect and taking out the rca's fixes it then that is the only thing i could see it being. those amps protect mode oly protects from short circuits, over load, thermal over-heat and DC offset. how old is the amp.

bump. Changed out HUs no difference. Also without the RCAs in the amps don't even turn on but once I plug in the RCAs to either of them they immediately go into protect. Any ideas? I'm stumped.

bump, new update:

Did some more testing and without RCAs the amps don't even power on, without any power/ground if I plug in the RCAs it automatically goes into protect? What happened?

lol epic fail you have a bad ground my friend your amps are pulling ground through your rca'a lol
That was actually my next test but how is that possible? My ground was perfect for a month and then just suddenly went bad??

Well I moved my ground and now my speaker amp works. Now my sub amp powers up but automatically goes into protect. It does this if I have the power and ground hooked up with or without the RCAs and also if I just have the RCAs in. I'm about to take it out and open it up to see if theres anything burned up inside.

Any ideas on the exact problem?

Thats kinda what I was thinking. It always got really hot. But I attributed that more to being in my trunk in Miami than low voltage. Since it would be hot to the touch even when off for a long time.
