2 amps into 1 sub

anybody tried using 2 identical amps, to power 1 dual voice coil sub? 1 amp will power each voice coil and they will be both bridged (mono)

i was wondering how hard is it to set the gains on each amp to be as equal as possible.

what do you guys think?

It can be done. One of my friends ran four RF Power 1000s to a pair of 18" DVC subs. The closest DD dealer to me is running four amps, two strapped per coil, on a single Digital Designs 9515!

Now, the hard part is to match the level of power output per coil!

can i use a DMM to match it or i need a special tool/equipment to do it?

We make a MLX-100 Maxx-Link that is specifically designed for this application.

Gain matching is important but so is the Low Pass, Subsonic and Bass EQ.

The MLX-100 will help with all 4.

i have a 15" DVC sub. (dual 4 ohm) and (2) 2 channel amp rated at 500watts rms @ 4 ohm mono.

i changed my mind, i bought a class d amp(mono) from a member instead. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
