2 Amps 2 Subs

Okay, so heres the deal.

Originally, I had two 1,000 Watt JVC Arsenal subs, and a Kenwood KAC-7205 (I would tell you the specs but the model number is easier). I only had the amp wired to one of the subs, so I decided to go out and buy another amp (Same exact one, just for the other sub.) Everything was working fine before I decided to buy the other amp. I spent about 3 hours installing it, using the batterys negative as a direct ground considering I'm using a seperate battery. They worked fine for about 2 days until the subs would randomly stop working, start working, and stop working over and over again. The amps were staying on, the subs just decided to go on the fritz. Eventually, after a couple hours driving around like this, the amps stopped working all together.

There's two lights on top of the amps, a red one and a blue one. I'm not sure what the blue one is, but I know the red one is power. The blue one doesn't even turn on anymore, but the red one does, so I know my connection is fine when it comes to power. I was wondering what could cause this. I've tried everything including changing to a non-direct ground, re-routing my power control wire, checking all the fuses including the ones in the power wires, changing the RCA wires around, and everything. My ground wires are 2.5 feet long, 6 gauge wire.

My power wires are 6 feet long, 6 gauge wire.

My RCA Cables are about 15 feet long.

One of my subs has a small hole busted in it due to my skateboard hitting it, it shouldn't be the problem because it worked fine for about 2 and a half weeks after that happened, and I think this is an amp fault anyways.

The red light is protect. The blue light means the amp is on and working properly. You're in protect because your second battery is not being charged by your alternator. Your amps depleted the battery and were protecting intermittantly and then coming back on. Eventually you drained enough that now the voltage is just enough to turn the amp on, it senses the voltage and stays in protect. What does this mean? You either didn't ground your rear battery or didn't run a power wire to it, or your fuse is blown on the power wire. I'd say you grounded the batt or the amp because the remote turn on wouldn't remotely turn on unless the HU and the amps share a common ground.

Thanks a lot, I wired them to my alternator and they work now. Unfortunately I'm pushing out too much power for my alternator to stand so I need a high output...Sweet! More money. hah. thanks a lot I appreciate it.
