2 alpine type Rs or 1 alpine type x? boths 12s

Having owned both, Type R's are a lot louder.

Type X's sound infinitely better, and are true low end monsters.

My single Type X 10" in a 1 cube sealed box flexed my Blazer almost (keyword as not to get flamed) as much as my 18" FI Q did in a ported box.

alright thanks so im guessing id be running both type r's at 1ohm....

what amp do you think would be the best without being to costly,

and do you think i should just go to 2 15s since they arent too much more?

how much room you have to work with? ya said closed trunk so im guessin you will not have room for 2 15s ported. so id stick with the 12s and put them in a ported box around 4 cubes and throw 1500 watts to them and they will get loud.

hifonics BXI1208 would run them at rated

I would personally put more around 1500RMS to them though. A hifonics Bxi1608/2008 would be a nice budget amp choice.

If yer not on a tight budget, get an IA 20.1 or a sundown 1500D. Those there are some solid amps. I miss my 20.1

Do not mix subs. Stick with just the Rs. Put around 1500 watts like other people said, and you'll be pretty set.

get a hifonics 1608d, that'll be loud enough

Type r are the best way to get loud cheap, while not sounding like audiobahn crap

Contrary to what a lot of people believe, two 12" Type Rs won't need anywhere near 1500 watts to get LOUD. They'll likely handle it, but they definitely don't need that much power to get them really moving. 800-1000 to the pair would sound amazing.

And yes, if you can fit 15s, go for it!
