2 AA Assassin 8s or 2 rl-i8s?

Well, one of the local guys here was running 6 Assassin 8s in his Integra, so i'm going to talk with him and maybe see if I can check out the sound sometime, and i'll continue to look at the RL-is. I just wish I knew someone that had them so I could listen to them in person. Because most of the muslc I listen to has a lot of drum that goes both very low and moderately high.

Some songs I REALLY listen to a lot so you can get a feel for what I mean are:

Rob Zombie - Reload

Tool - Ticks and Leeches

Fear Factory - Act of God

Children of Bodom - Sixpounder

And a lot of stuff from the above bands.

I hate how indecisive I am at times. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

I've got a pair AA 8"s in my truck sealed with about .35ft^3 each, getting about 350-400w each (I set my gains at 350, but I usually go a little above it just fine). I'll "obtain" those songs and go play 'em in the truck later and tell you how it sounds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

And let me tell you, these things aren't exactly quiet in a less than adequate sealed box, so I'd imagine ported would be crazy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

NOT crazy, but VERY respectable for 2 baby 8's that cost $100.

I can assure you that the drums don't go very low, even the kick drums. The assassins will keep up with all the music you mentioned no problem and giving surprising output for little budget subs.

I was VERY impressed when I heard them in my GF's car and I run 2 RL-P 15's with 1500watts. NO they don't get anywhere near as loud, but they do get loud and sound VERY good with all the rock, rap, metal, jazz, classical I threw at them.

I think you'll be very happy with the assassins ported.

bottom line, if u r on a budget, you'll get every dollars worth from the assassins...no regrets...

if u got the money to shell out, then theres others but bang for the buck for 8's, i think the assassins are very hard to beat...

Okay, with about 300W rms, do the Assassins actually have any punch? Can you feel the bass in the car? Is the output of the rl's that much greater?

Only use to dealing with 10's and 12's with good sq, but still thump. Really curious to try a couple of 8's.

depends on what you've had before....

if you've had flea market stuff, i bet you'd be quite suprize...

if you've had DD's 9500's with 4 gazillion watts and so fourth, you'd be disappointed

Well, money isnt too much of an issue, I mean, in a month I could have enough for the RL-i8s, but I could buy the Assassins with a small portion of my next check. But then I have the box. And how I want it set up in my car. But, i'm pretty much leaning with the assassins now. The next step is...8s, or 10s... hehe. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
