2.5" coils sub recones?

2.5 inches is 2.5 inches.
It all depends on the gap tolerances.

An email has been sent. Thanks.
Some subs are a few mm off from a true 2.5" coil - but close enough that by rounding they call it a 2.5" coil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Or just spend a couple bucks and recone them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks Jacob. I knew that though. I use general sizes for ease of understanding until I get the actual measurements.
The thing is some of these 2.5" coil subs are really like 2.53" and will NOT take a regular 2.5" coil, hence Fi can't recone them and neither can most places.

Ok folks. I know about sizing. I've built a few hundred speakers.

If you're not offering solutions to my issues i'd appreciate it if you didn't post in my thread. Make a new one.

Answer:

These are for a home theater project that I'm trying to save a few bucks on.
