2 15s vs 1 18

I know I know the whole cone area idea but i have never head an 18 before and was wondering if it would be worth it to buy 1 18 dc lvl 5 ( or any other suggestions) and throw it in a 6.5 cubes box tuned to 33 hz and call it a day....they set up would be in an envoy.... i already have 2 15 hdc3s ( and im considering 2 orion hccas too) so if this idea wouldnt be an upgrade then let me know...thank you

Not likely an upgrade as you do lose about a 12" sub's worth of cone area. I've never heard the AQ subs so I can't say for sure. DC LVL 5 is a MONSTER though.

i dont think it would be an upgrade less cone area and less power handling having 1 18 vs 2 15s

Two 15's have the cone area of 353.43, one 18" sub has a cone area of 254.47.

Personally I would definitely go with two 15's over one 18.

Keep what you have, much better than going to a single sub.

ohh and btw i would power the hdc3s and dc lvl 5 with an aq3500d so the power is equal

This. I forgot who it was but a guy with an F150 was hitting some really good numbers at low frequencies with 2 HDC315's and a Sundown 3000.

Keep what you have as I stated before, they're good subs. Depending on power, 8 cubes tuned to 35hz~ will dominate the lows. Tune lower if you want, but there really is no need.
