Im trying to get it all installed before my birthday on the 30th, But Definantly before "Riverfest", and The carshow there.
So with that said, Here's where we are currently.
A-Pillar's..
Door pod's..
Basically the grey one is in high build primer, And the black one is in "blocking" stage. They've BOTH still got some low spot's / Pin holes. Im debating on mixing up a "Milkshake", And finishing them to be painted, Or build most of the highspots up, And wrapping them in black suede / Speaker grill cloth.
My plan was to bolt the pod to the door panel, Then bolt the panel onto the door. Should i drill a few holes threw the base, then fiberglass washers in for support? Or should 3 layers of glass + mat hold up?
Ive also got a set of ID OEM 6.5" Midbass Drivers i was planning to glass into the armrest in the backseat. From the pictures ive seen, There isnt enough room, Without cutting into the car structurally.
Ive got two option's..
1. Put them in a set of kick panel's.. [How will they sound, Next to a set of ID CTX65CS's? Plus ill have to relocate the cars computer in the dash [No biggie, really.]
2. Put them in someone elses car.. [i know 2 people that would buy them in a heartbeat, Or i could throw them in my uncles 98 mustang GT that i drive often. Only problem with that, Is the Mach 1 system that it came with.]
any insight?
BigBang, I hear ya on missing old car's. I keep wanting to finish this one, And "flip it" for a few thousand, And get into something more SPL oriented [blazer, two door tahoe..], But i just keep thinkin back on my old cutlass, And how much i miss that beast.
And i hear both of you on the life problem's. Im just glad gave me the chance at another day before they throw the key away on me. You best believe imma keep my head up no matter wat life tosses at me.
Thanks for the comment's, And suggestions. Hopfully we'll watch this thing come together in the next ~2 week's [HAH! Still dont got my 1/0 Amp Lead.]
Edit: The girl just asked why i spend all my time with my car, And not her.. I had to tell her the truth.. The car just sounds better. Looks like ill be spending the night working on these, LOL.
