Nic watts runs 4 twisted sounds 8.5ks on 4 nightshade 12s.

They hold up to that abuse?!?! That's a lot of power for them sundowns just trying to melt those coils

Yep.

If you type nic watts in YouTube you can see some of his old videos. None on there with his new nightshades.

I have videos of my buddy Daltons zv4s on the 20k.

i dont understand why you need such a huge box. you could do 10 12s in that air space and it would be a no contest..

i will say im confused.. lol does not take much..lol

is there somebody that would design a box for me?

my plan was to put the 4-12" in a ported box ( cscstang designed it ) and down the road put 4- hds3 12" in this box.

he told me the box would be fine for them also. he said to just add another baffle.

so would this 4th order be good for the hds3 ?

not sure if that will ever happen but it would be nice if i could switch them out down the road and still use the same inclosure.

The hds work in 4th orders I don't know how well. But the hdc are not 4th order friendly because of there tighter suspension.

Not true actually. My buddy has a 6 15" 4th order wall and we threw 4 HDC3 15s in it and it is nasty. Everyone says they **** in 4ths but we experienced otherwise.

It meters louder sealed as well.

I built it for a friend. It's a 2.5:1 with 4 cubes sealed on an AP 3000. Still some work left to do like 2nd alt, extra bat, 4k+ amp but it's quite loud now. Problem is it misses some of the lower frequencies. The port is tuned to nearly 50 hz so it's not a wind machine, just throat clinching bass. I'd say from 35-50 hz it's perfect but it really rolls off below 35. Frequencies in the 20s are not very loud so when listening to a song with varying frequencies it has an odd sound because 70% of the song is loud as F and the rest is much lower. If I did it over I'd drop the ratio to maybe 1.5:1 and bump the sealed section up about 25% to get a more efficient and flatter response.

real world build.

and thats the bass i want, the crushing bass.

not into hair tricks.

i want the most i can get out of what i have.

i want loud and painful.

im just not 100% sold on 4th order....

i dont know, never heard one , never even looked into 4th order..

and now i have most on here saying do a 4th order...

if every body thinks i can get what i want from 4th order, and i can get somebody good with 4th order do a design, then ill do it.
