amp = hifonics bix2000d 2000x1@1ohm

enclosure = dual ported, built to specs for jlw6v2, not sure on exact specs.

car = dodge magnum

budget = cheaper the better, but $300-$400 if possible.

subs needed = 12" 1,000 RMS (range is acceptable at 750-1200)

i had 4 - w3v3 8 ohm subs, that came for a 2ohm load, but the box I had built SUCKED and I do mean SUCKED, so I wasn't getting the output I should have been getting with a little over 1,000 watts with 4 subs. I could either get another box made, but I still wouldn't be getting a 1 ohm load, so I figure I'll just get 2 new 12" subs and put them into one of my old enclosures.

Subs I'm considering...

Kicker CVX12

Alpine Type R

I get JL, Kicker, and Alpine (buy one get one free; MSRP prices though) from a local shop and I love their warranty. I'm willing to go with any brand sub that I easily purchase from a reputable website/dealer.

thanks.

Type R's off that amp has been done thats going to be the cheapest way.

Heck I have 2 4ohm DVC 12's right here a couple hours from you that are BNIB, The new models.

But you get BOGO, so 2 for $200 is a deal

yes, that would be getting the most out of the amp.

I recently read a thread about the power handling of Type R's, but I'm not sure if I can get give them roughly 1k watts rms each. I realize they'll be getting more like 700-850 because of my electrical system and heat impedance.

Car Tunes has BOGO free.

smh. for the heck of it, i just hooked up two of the subs to my ported enclosure. 4 ohm load, getting around 600w RMS to both w3's...and its jsut as loud, if not louder, as when I had 4 of them, getting around 1100w.

to anyone who is hard headed and doesn't listen to these guys, THE ENCLOSURE IS EVERYTHING.

aq sdc 2.5
"The SDC2.5 was designed for 500-600 watt per driver sound systems, this matches well with the 500-600 watt mono blocks driving a single woofer, or the 1000-1200 watt mono-blocks driving a pair of woofers."

I'm not quite sure that those fit my needs. I'm giving 2000w to 2 subs. Now the HDC3's are, but they are out of my budget

your not going to find very good subs for cheaper than $250 that can handle 1000 watts... they are all pretty close to that price that i know of...

here are 2 i would go with for a little cheaper than $250

DIYCable.com : Intro » Home » Exodus Subwoofers » (though this one could be $250 after shipping costs)

AE Speakers Online Store

if they dont charge shipping u could get a 15" for $250 compared to the AQ12" for $250
