2 12" Ported Box Help

I have searched the forums for pictures of boxes that hold 2 12" subs. There are alot of ways to build them, and I was just wondering if one way was better/preferred over the other.

1. Which box style is the best for performance?

2. Is it better to have the 2 subs share air space (1,2,4) or have their own separate chamber (3)?

3. If I were to make a box #1, would I need the red part in box #2?

I've only made a ported box for one singular sub. I don't know much about making a box for 2 subs. Thanks!

They should be the same, I always advise single chamber though since there's less to get wrong.
