well the box can be 16" 35" 20" (H)(W)(D). will that be big enough for a ported box tuned to 32hz? an if i did it at 32 hz i'd want it to be running off aq2200d amp right?

didnt read the whole thread, but i say go ported, and shoot for ~2 cubes per (after displacement) tuned high 20's or low 30's. 1.5kw per sub. should be gittin it

i'd do about 15square inches per cubic foot of your enclosure.
but i would just seal them. they are more of a sq sub then a spl sub.

I guess people tend to overlook the fact that you can TURN DOWN your subs, if you want better tonal balance between your main speakers and your subwoofers.

It makes more sense to design an enclosure around the maximum output you desire and turn them down when not needed, than to stuff them in a small *** enclosure that requires you to boost every setting and drive the speakers into distortion.

Then get the 3500D as well. Down the road you'll probably want to swap to different subs, at least 3500D is somewhat upgrade proof.

The real reason is group delay, but most people don't care (like me). You can

keep it in check as long as it peaks under about 18ms and below 30hz. I use

winISD to check it, but I'm sure there are formulas.
