2 12" alpine type x's

well the box can be 16" 35" 20" (H)(W)(D). will that be big enough for a ported box tuned to 32hz? an if i did it at 32 hz i'd want it to be running off aq2200d amp right?
From the free box sticky:

4.3 cubes at 32hz 52sq" of port. It's a little light on the port area, but not to bad.

mine is ported, and the shit is clean as fawk.

edit: FWIW, here are my current box plans:

why does port always refer to spl... this is ignorance imo....
I guess people tend to overlook the fact that you can TURN DOWN your subs, if you want better tonal balance between your main speakers and your subwoofers.

It makes more sense to design an enclosure around the maximum output you desire and turn them down when not needed, than to stuff them in a small *** enclosure that requires you to boost every setting and drive the speakers into distortion.

The real reason is group delay, but most people don't care (like me). You can

keep it in check as long as it peaks under about 18ms and below 30hz. I use

winISD to check it, but I'm sure there are formulas.
