2 12" alpine type x's

I have my type x in 1.1 cubes sealed after displacement and I really enjoy it. If you want a little boomier low end I'd go about 1.5 after displacement sealed per driver. That would be about 1.7 before driver displacement and bracing.

i am running a single X in 2.5cf tuned to 35hz off a pdx 1.1000 and love it. birthsheet says 1200+ on the amp.

here is a shot i have that was mid-install

I thought you were gonna get some hdc3?
i was gonna but my friend went to jail an is selling his car and his system so he could sell me those type x's cheap an they've only been used about 2 months. an he would sell me them for 150. but if that doesnt work out im def going with those HDC3's forsure! but im def gonna go the cheaper route if possible for good subs like the x's!!

dam that port looks pretty wide!! if i get these should i go ported or sealed? like which would they perform better with? also any other input if i should run an aq3500d or 2200d amp?

Type X are a pretty high quality sub and they will sound good ported or sealed provided

you build the ported box correctly. Nineball's box looks good, it could be tuned lower,

but then it would be even bigger. If you tuned lower, say 29-32hz for two subs, your

looking at a box more than double the size of nineball's. If you have the space for

ported, and you run the sff at about 25hz, the 3500d should slam. If you try to skimp

on airspace (box size), just go sealed 1.25 cubes per sub or so; no sff needed.

well the box can be 16" 35" 20" (H)(W)(D). will that be big enough for a ported box tuned to 32hz? an if i did it at 32 hz i'd want it to be running off aq2200d amp right?

It's gonna be close. You should be able to get 2 cubes each out of those dimensions, though I'd wait until a skilled designer gives you a better answer. I pay people to build my enclosures //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

whats sff?

an well i went to the 12volt and there's a calculator on there to find out the the cubic feet from the dimensions of ur box an it says its a lil over 4 cubes. so i think it'll be good. haha ya ima pay people to do mine to. possibley somebody on here when i get the money for all this stuff. if i gave the subs 2 cubes each at 32hz would i want to only use a aq2200d amp or would the 3500 work better?

i have 2 type x 12"s in a ported box tuned to 32hz and the box is pretty big.. takes most of my trunk in a 2005 altima.. if I knew they would sound equally good in a smaller sealed box I would of went that route and kept some trunk.. lol

are u sayin they'd sound just as good sealed?

he meant ssf and that's sub sonic filter, and I'd get the 3500 to be safe.

I'd pick the amp that you feel will give you the results you want. Do you really need 1500+ watts to each driver? Plus, do you have the electrical system to back that up?

Though, if you're the type of person that's is thinking the 2200d might not be enough, then go for the bigger one. I'm personally content with my single X, sealed, on 850 watts.

There's a lot more output in a ported box, but it rolls off faster; but in your case probably at a low enough frequency range where it won't matter as much.
