ok currently i have 2 12'' CVRs in a kicker made ported box. the box sounds disgusting and i need a change. so here are my 2 options...

2 12'' CVRs in a new box; 4 cubes total, 34 hz

or get 1 15'' type r n get a tcab box

dont worry about cost because i can sell the CVRs and get the type R and tcab box for only 100$ more. im lookin for 60 spl/40 sq.

if the cvr's sound bad you don't wanna tune them in mid-high 30's. not sure on size but tune LOW.

EDIT:for some reason i read your post as tuned to 36hz, but i'd even go lower then that. Nothing wrong with getting the R but the kickers are worth trying out a new box atleast, speciallly if you can build it.

well the kicker box is wayyyy too small and is tuned to about 40hz, so im sure itll sound alot better in a box thats almost double the size and from 40 to 34 hz should be a big change. i still want to keep it loud so thats y i thought 34 hz would be good.

Hate to jump on the bandwagon here...but the Type R is probably going to be the louder of the two setups. I have owned several Comp VRs (Just test subwoofers) And I currently have a 15" CVR and Im having a hell of a time getting it loud on the meter. The Type R 15" is proven to get very loud, Though I do believe that you are going to need more poer eventually, but 600 watts should do fine for right now (thats assuming you are using the MRD-M605 in your sig)

yeah i have the same sub/box in your avatar and am not pleased with it but am gonna keep them for future project and swap for my H2 15. I'm giving my CVR's ~900each and they get plenty loud pretty ugly sounding. You should just simply try your idea and if not what you want you could still build another box for less energy+money then selling your equipment and buying new.

well ive already got someone who wants to buy my CVRs so thats not a problem. but lik chevyaudio said the type r is proven to get loud especially with tcab. and 600 watts isnt enough but ill upgrade soon probally to a 1200 watt

and //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif I don't mean to bash on Potts. The Type R can get loud without the TCAB.
yes that is true but ive only heard good things about tcab and how buying there boxes are worth it. the only bad thing ive heard about them is thier customer service is a little shady...

make a new box for the kickers first and then if you still dont like them i would change the subs for type r's

and the build quality isn't the best sometimes....
