2 12 Alum Q And Amp

OK guys im mad very upset right now i have blown 3 sets of alum 12q's and its mainly the spider on them ok im a noob i have no idea really how many ohms im suppose to have them at i got a 1300 hct 1200watt amp 2 alum12's ok i dont know how to wire these up i invested alot in these things please help me if u can give me a pic on how too i mean something that would be kool thnx

Why would you spend money on this stuff and not learn how to use it properly? They are dual 6 ohm so you can run it at 3 or 12 ohms for a single sub. 6 ohms or 1.5 ohms for 2 subs.

Check the sticky at the top of the wiring section for all of your wiring needs.

...the word on the street is that those alumQ's dont actually like 600rms for long periods (like 4,5,6,7 minutes).... even though they're rated for higher.

well, you need to account for the enclosure abilities.

you'd prolly be better running each @ 6ohm then parrellelling (sp) them down to 3 ohm final load.

If you consistently ripping spiders, I'm gonna guess that the subs are overexerting pretty badly, and consistently.... box design.

I run a single alum12 @ 900 watts without any problems @ 3 ohms. Then again, its from an audiobahn amp, so maybe its not really 900 watts. but the manager of a respected car audio and security install place hooked my amp up, never heard of audiobahn before, and said it was pushing real well.

That or learn how to run them correctly. You can't just get subs, and an amp, and expect them to work correctly.
