2 12 Alpine Type S vs Kicker CVR, Whats better?

Ok, i have a rockford fosgate 501bd amp that pushes around 600 ish rms. i have 2 mtx subs that are only getting about 200 rms each, and i might want to upgrade the subwoofers, but not the amp for a while. So i need 2 12 subwoofers that will get about 600 RMS together (300 each). Which do you think is better? The cvrs can take up to 400 each while the type s are only 300 rms. The type s is probably a little cheaper, but not much so its not about the price really. Which has better sq, and which will sound louder with the given rms? Thanks for your input!

500 rms at what....2ohms? If so i would go with ascendant audio assassins...They kill both of those choices for the same price....

CVR over the Type S, IMHO, will handle the power better

Yeah...The CVR is a nice daily sub.

Picked one up from cardomain, The infamous night when they listed the CVR 15 for 40 shipped on accident. lol.

So after playing around with it and putting some power to it (took a 1200watt burp rather easily) It now found its home as a HT sub right now. Good all around budget sub...can't beat kicker in the quality department either.

lol @ 40$!!! ya 500-600 rms @ 2 ohm daily. ive been weary about the cvrs since i went to circuit city and the guy wouldnt play them very loud lol. thats the only time i ever heard them and they were barely moving. i think ill get some cvrs when i buy some new subs, thanks for the info

I have a 12" CVR and i love it. i will be upgrading soon, but for the time being it has done me just fine. Gets fairly loud and sounds pretty good doing it. Just be sure to port it. I started with a sealed and then went ported, and will never go back. Good luck!
