2 10's enclosure installtion

Hi, im new to car audio and i have 2 old JBL subwoofers with a enclosure. The 2 subs are 8 ohms and i need help wiring them to 4 ohms. The thing is my enclosure, should i connect and match the charges inside the enclosure? or do it on the outside of the enclosure? Sorry if its hard to understand.

if not, would i have to drill between the 2 subs to connect the wires from inside?

you can do it that way. never drill holes inside a box. having seperate chambers helps with cancellation problems. just make sure you connect + to + and - to -
