What should I do? I'm thinking of selling my two type R 10's for 1 15" FI BL. It would be ran off of a alpine-mrp m1000 amp. What would be louder? And should I get the dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm FI BL if I do decide to get that?

Everyone is being toolbags...

2 10s have 157 sq in of cone area

1 15 has 177 sq in of cone area

A 10 can hit lows just as good as an 18 version, cone area does not affect that.

Note, you need the D1 version of the BL, your amp is only stable down to 2 ohms, and the D1 you will wire in series to get a 2 ohm load.

Fi is American made the the Customer Service will be a lot better than Alpines. On top of that Fi just makes better subs, no argument. The SSD, the Q, and the BL would all work well with your amp. The Qs are a big hit on how well they can smash the lows. I'd say the BL gets a little louder than the Q though but won't sound near as good. A 15" Q/BL will get louder than your type-rs if you can fit a proper box.
