Is 2/0 awg too over kill for power wire and to do the big 3 with? This is what I am looking at using for my install as it is "readily available" to me. Is this too much? I will be using a D class Cadence Z7000 1200wrms x1 @ 1 ohms @ 12.5 volts and some sort of 4 channel amp at about 100x4 @ 4ohms (probably cadence). I would relocate my battery and add another (both would be where my spare tire used to reside. the from there to a ditrobution block then from the block probably 1/0awg to the Z7000 and 4awg to the 4 channel...Over kill????

its over kill for what your doing BUT you can hurt anything by going bigger4ga is plenty for what your doing and more

He means "can't". You can't hurt things by going bigger. and anything smaller than 1/0awg for the big three is a waste of time. Most factory wires are already 4awg.

The only thing I would balk at with 2/0awg is the fact that crimp rings are harder to find. But if you have a ready supply of those as well.. go for it.

Yeah I pretty much got shit covered when it comes to the 2/0 gauge wire lol...One of the fringe benifits at work lol./.

yeah i have friends get me welding wire too. Good stuff, expecially since its free!
Yup yup ours is the ultra flexible shit or whatever they call it...it 2/0awg and I can coil it around my fist....

At my local auto supply store i have 1/0-4/0 ring terminals readily avaliable. They are the cheap crimp ones but at least they have them
