1st Series SI Mag to RE SX???Sealed

I've had a claw basket SI Mag 12 powered by a bp1200.1 in a 2.5cuft sealed box for awhile now. Im looking for some more spl and some stronger midbass would be nice too. I was hoping a RE SX 12 in the same box would do the trick. Any1 have any suggestions/comments? Thanks

Midbass is also not the job of a subwoofer...
^ What he said. Get better midbass drivers if you want prominent midbass.

Those Mag's should do fine up to about 90 Hz, which is higher than I like to cross subs over to, but the "midbass" on them should be fine considering that they play higher than our new Mag's do.

BTW: That enclosure is WAY too big for a single claw. Loose a cubic foot and the mibass'ish area will improve a bit. And if you're set on the ~2.5 cube box...port it. You've got enough area before port and driver displacement to port that enclosure to around 30 Hz and still have 2 cubes afterwards, which is just fine for that driver.

Thanks for the replies guys. Electrodynamic, I was thinking this box might have been too big for a sealed but I thought it might be better because 1.5cuft sounded so small. As far as porting it, I could do so, but I dont know how to to calculate the tuning. As I said though I would like some more midbass because I don't listen to much midbass and it seems like the magnum doesn't have that much range. It gets really low, and it gets decently loud and sounds good on bass kicks, but I don't need it to get low really because I rarely listen to hiphop. I know a midbass woofer or maybe some comps would help the midbass, but I don't have the time or money for that. I've heard shitty subs with better range but maybe thats because they are shitty that they are not truely "sub"woofers. Maybe I won't be able to achieve what I'm looking if I can get more midbass from a smaller sealed box that sounds good to me. If you dont understand what Im trying to get at, I would like my sub to sound more like that of a computer speaker system subwoofer. Or is this not possible because a computer speaker system subwoofer is more like a midbass woofer alltogether? Hopefully you guys can help me out. Thanks

subwoofers aren't midbass drivers. period.

I see what your saying but i don't really agree with that. A 6.5" subwoofer is not gonna hit as low as a 12" subwoofer. The 6.5" woofer is gonna play the midranges better. Therefore the 6.5" sub would be more of a midbass driver, but its classified as a subwoofer.

Well Im thinking I might just make a smaller box for it. Porting it will just get it to go lower and thats not what I want, but maybe Ill be able to build two boxes out of 1 plank of mdf so maybe ill build both.
