1ohm??

I was wondering if the w7 is capable of handling a 1 ohm load?? I searched and found that the w7 can be wired to 1.5 ohms (correct me if I'm wrong). Would it be safe to run it in an amplifier that is 1ohm stable?? For example a rockford fosgate bd1001 which is 1000watts @ 1ohm....

The sub isn't "stable" to a certain load, the sub is that load. The amp is what needs to be "stable" to a certain load.

Also, no single W7 can be wired to 1.5ohm, since the 10w7 and 12w7 both have single 3ohm voice coils, and the 13w7 has dual 1.5ohm voice coils (which means it can only be wired to .75ohm or 3ohm).

Side note: An amp is stable to any impedence above it's recommended lowest impedence. For example, that amp you listed is stable to 1ohm; so it is also stable to anything above 1ohm (for example, 1.5ohm, 2ohm, 3ohm, 4ohm, 8ohm, 1.34ohm 2.67ohm, etc etc)

****...thanks guys.....I might just be getting a w7 in the near future then... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryexcited.gif.c26a15f316d23068607f36ddacd7a7ab.gif
