1ohm question from noob.

The biggest reason behind me building up my system is all the highway driving I do. My question is whether its safe to drive an amp in a 1ohm load for 4 hours at a time or should I find something that provides enough power at 2ohm? I'm looking into maybe getting 2 SS rl-p12 that need about 1200 combined. Can someone please educate me?

Would I pay an arm and a leg for an amp that can do 1200 at 2ohm or should I not worry and try to find an amp that does 1200 at 1ohm?

if an amp is rated @ 1 ohm, it should be able to run at 1 ohm constantly without overheating

Yep, what he said.^^ If it rated to do 1ohm you should have no problem with it.
