1Ohm or 4Ohm

Hey guys, quite new to car audio so bare with me.

I just bought an SSA Icon 15" sub with duel 2ohm voice coils, my question is should I wire it to 1 ohm or 4ohms.

Is there a difference from wiring it to 1ohm compared to wiring it to 4ohms besides a decrease of watts flowing to the sub?

what amp are you hooking up to the speaker? that way we could determine what wiring option will work best.

A Class D monoblock amp, Probably either the Alpine PDX1.1000, RF T10001BD or the Kicker ZX1000.1

I would like to power the max RMS of the sub which is 900wrms.

if you have enough power at 4 ohm.. i'd do that being it'd draw less current... now saying that you'd need a pretty big amp..

so just get something like rft10001bd
