hey if you wire a amp down to 1 0hm at 1100 watts do you need to turn the volume all way up to get 1100 wats ex: volume max 35 around what number would you turn the volume up to to get 1100 watts someone help thank you

if the amp is true and puts out 1100RMS at 1ohms then it should put out 1100RMS at any volume given your electrical system can keep up....and gains set

ok thanks but its just my amp keeps overheating and going into protection mode and now its acting stupid like it doesnt want to come out of protection mode any ideas? and how should i set the gains on the directed 1100 rms amp?

You will not put out 1100wrms at all times as someone said, if that was the case, there would not be varying voltage drops and increases in current draw....

If your amplifier keeps going into protect it could be because of several reasons.

That amp has thermal, short, imp and some other protection on it.

If it wont turn on, check your fuses.

If it turns on then shuts off, check your impedance

If it turns on then shuts off, check your temperature

If the amp doesnt turn on or turns on then shuts off, check your wires (including rca) to make sure that there is no wire touching wire, or there is no wire touching ground, in other words, shorting out. If that was the case though you would probably be blowing fuses.
