This is a Tri-coat 6 hour process
Sealer is applied and awaits HOK Tri-coat. Took care of that nasty rust and cleaned up the rockers. We are changing up the base to HOK and using a Shimerin' with pearl for the seven layer clear. Three layers will be laid, wet sand, then the final four, wet sand then buff, and finally polish.
Time for paint:
Here is the paint right out of the can:
Don't worry, the clear coat we had mixed really turned out well. Here is the fresh lay:
Close up of paint with clear, I LOVE HOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:
]Please keep in mind this NOT YET WET SANDED, so the paint will not POP till we get it sanded and buffed. More pics:
More odds and ends of pieces, and body curves:
Since I am having split duels ran behind the rear tires there is no need for this little exhaust cut out, unfortunately I had to make both side match since the OE bumper cover is molded to have the cut out.
Slowly getting it all back together:
Got the step rails perfectly aligned, took for freaking ever. Hood has been adjusted:
Wheels, front bumper, and headlights are now installed. Still need to get the rear spoiler on and replace the radiator and A/C condenser bracket.
Getting ready to pull it outside:
I performed a "cut through" in the hid-away compartment in the rear. Yes it hits hard.
12 grade cold rolled stainless welded to make the enclosure carrier:
The enclosure. Sealed, 1" thick high density.
Perfect fit....with some hammers:
Box welded to chassis:
FIBERGLASS!!!!! To seal it up tight, and some carpet over it:
And no one knows the wiser. Plus it leaves a lot of room that most enclosures take up.
