Ok its time for a pretty big update since I have gotten a lot done the past couple of days. Unfortunately, I don't think I am going to have it done by Saturday so I won't be making the Street Warriorz show in Louisville but I am going to try and make the E-Town show in August.
The first thing I got accomplished was finishing the wiring in the trunk. I bought a total of 30 foot of Kicker 1/0 Hyperflex, 15ft of blue and 15ft of black to run all my power and grounds to the amps with. I ended up using some Rockford Fosgate 1/0 Fuse Holders that I got off eBay pretty cheap and some 250 amp fuses to run to the Z1A. I used some KnuKonceptz Konfused battery terminals. These are probably the best battery terminals I have ever used. They have three 1/0 outputs each and the way the wires hook into them is really nice. I would highly recommend them if you are running multiple runs of 1/0 because they are easy to use, look nice and are relatively cheap.
The next thing I did was get the Xbox 360 ready to go in. I wanted to fit the 360 inside the glove box but unfortunately it wouldn't fit completely inside. I had to cut the back out of the glove box to get it to slide farther in and then I decided to cut a hole in the glove box and have the front faceplate sticking out. This way, I will have easy access and it will look good when I get it all done. I am going to get a new chrome faceplate for it and attach some Cadillac emblems and text to it. I also bought some chrome trim so I could make it look flush when the install is complete. I know it doesn't look that good now but bare with me.
I got my last amp that I was waiting on in on Tuesday. Its a Rockford Fosgate Power T3002 that is going to run the rear set of RE XXX 6.5". I got the speaker terminals wired with the 8 gauge KnuKoncepts Karma SS speaker cable. I put screw those back in and used some liquid nail to make sure everything was sealed up tight. I also used the 8 gauge wire to get each of the RE XXX 12"s wired down to 2 ohm. I also got the boards I painted earlier in the appropriate places on the box and got the screwed down to mount the two RF amps on. I got the speakers put in the box using some 1 1/4" security screws. I think it ended up looking really nice. After I get the box and amps in the trunk I am going to build a front panel for the amp boards to make it so you can't see any of the wires.
I also got the two optical cables that I have been waiting for to use with the Xbox 360 and Alpine DVA-9860 to run to the H701 processor. They are some really heavy duty cables that I got from MonoPrice.com for a really good price. They are the premium optical cables with a 8mm jacket and metal connectors and only cost like $7.50 each. I would highly recommend them for any thing you need optical cables for.
I also got a really sweet deal on a Batcap 400 that I couldn't pass up. I am going to use this only on the Z1A to give it a little extra juice in case I need it. I also got a Stinger SPV44 battery but I don't think I will be able to use it because I don't have enough room. If anyone is interested in it, its for sale.
Ok here are the pics of what I got done this week. I'm planning on getting the last of the wires ran and getting the box in today. My DVA-9860 should be here today so if it gets here early enough I'll get that ready to go too. Check back soon for more updates!
