1982 impala cd player problem

I need help with this dilly of a pickle!

I am instaling an alpine mp3 (cda9833) player, and i got the wiring harness for it...one problem, there is a yellow wire (power) from the cd player harness, but not from the wiring harness I bought. There is no defects to it. It's just not working. I did the unthinkable and spliced it, and that still doesn't work! Please help! Thanks

or just run a new wire to the batt, this is a 2nd option.

Find a new wiring harness first

There isn't a problem with the battery wire. Only harness available. They all look the same. Just no power. the harness came with a power wire separate from the harness itself. It has a weird plastic end on it, that doesn't fit anywhere!

If the original radio was an analog tuner (not digital), there may not have been a constant power wire present. No need for a memory wire when there's no presets and no clock, after all.
