18in BL Box Build

never heard of hornell, but im in the amherst/lockport area, 20 minutes north of downtown. if theres ever a meet around here, id love to hear that BL
Cool, I spend alot of time In Amherst as well. When I'm in Buffalo I normally stay at the um....marriot maybe..On Millersport Highway. My building is down the road in Getzville...

I Usually dont have my car unless im trailering the bike to Lester, or just visiting friends...but if I am in town, i can definitly let you know..

Anyways, Just got back from the shop. I will be building my next box there if my shop isnt done at that time.(even if it is i wont have all these tools yet) He has every clamp imaginable, in every size, planers, Radial arm saws, drill press, table routers, i can go on and on and on...

I didnt get to test out a few of the tools I wanted to as hes in the middle of doing a kitchen for someone so most of the shop is used up...But i will soon..

And Ill take pics next time. I dont know why i didnt bring my camera..something to do with the fact that my memory span is that of a puppy...

Tomorrow the build begins.

Quick Question...

Should I attach the sides to the bottom panel first and then install the Port

Or put the sides together and port, and then attach that to the bottom..

sounds good

if you have corner clamps, i would start with the port, and work your way around to the sides. then sandwich the top and bottom

Well...

I forgot one piece, I don't know how the **** I did it, but I never wrote it down on the paper...and i re looked the design over 100x...

And Because of my unsteady hands...I may have to re cut the top and bottom pieces. Im gunna piece it together tonight. if all goes well i should have it done tomorrow, so it will have a few days to dry...if not, looking like friday will be my build day(I took a half day at work)

Ok turns out, my bad cuts, weren't that bad at all...If I was going to paint it, I would more than likely redo it...however, since the carpet is going on..Im building.

This mofo is huge and strong as hell. I messed up by putting one peice on that I didn't want to(the piece the sub connects into...) But it all works out, just a little less space for my fat *** to put my arms in the box...

I couldn't take the piece off, because after only 10 minutes, the bond was to strong and the wood sounded like it wanted to snap...so i left it..

Before anyone says anything, The walls aren't ****ed up, a couple of the pics was while the board was just laying there with no glue or screws...

At first i was like oh ****, and then i remebered i took a couple pre build...

god **** this Silicone is getting me stoned..lol

Went through 150 screws...ran out. So i found some other ones, worked perfect...

Ran out of silicone as well, but I figured no biggy as I plan on buying a couple more tubes anyways...

No sub installed pics yet...dont want the fumes hurting anything...

Oh and I forgot to cover the ****ing vent while cutting out the holes...I think you can see saw dust in one. Luckily for me, its a box type and the vent is on the side of it, so I can vaccume it out..

nice job, ill have to check it out sometime im in Brockport, about 25 west of Rochester. Maybe well see each other at some comps this summer?

Good looking box I cant wait to see how you like it

Ehh the box is pretty **** nice for what it is(First Box, and i did most of it free hand with a circular Saw)

Next time I know what to expect and Ill be using the table saw...So i might be building again very soon afterall.

I know where brockport is. I have a couple friends who go there, and i have a ton who go to school in Roc, so im up there alot as well
