designing my box..have a few questions

im using RE's box design. it worked really well on my last box so im giving it another shot.

my first question is: it shows the sub facing forward on the box in the preview window with the port right next to it. i want my sub to be facing upward. if i face my sub and port firing up with the design dims being the sub and port firing forward, will i still have the same freq and tuning and whatnot cuz the port will be a different way? or will it be the same?

The tuning frequency is a function of the dimensions and port area of the box.

The direction the sub or port faces wont impact that, they only impact the transfer funtion of that particular vehicle, which varies anyway from one type of car to another.

You're fine as long as the dimensions and port area are still to RE's spec.

i cant get the tuning right either

should port width and length be in some ratio to the box? dumb question i know but heres my reasoning for asking.

before i was running 3.8 box with a 5 or 6 inch port..but the only way i can get my tuning right for the small single sub box is to have my port width be like 1 or 2 inches. and that sucks. is this gunna hurt my box? will it whistle?

and the box will be like 1.2-1.4 after displacement
