18"s box decisions

Im getting my old 18"s back finally and I need a big box for em. Last time I did 14cu ft net with subs up and port back. the flex was crazy. Now i have twice as much power. I have to build the batts into the box now though so Ill have to find more airspace somewhere else. Should i keep the sub up/ port back combo or is there a better setup? I was thinking subs forward right behind the back seat headrests and port back..

ports up is best in SUVs most of the time

but i've seen designs where it has been port up subs foward.
