18" in a trunk?

I have a 02 Impala and ran a LMS Ultra 18" in 5 cubes, sub up port to pass side. I have about 60 sqft of damp pro in my trunk though, you need to when you have a sub bangin straight at your trunk lid.

 
For me it would depend on the subs being compared. Even then I would feel more comfortable splitting 4k to two 12's for reliability (4k is a lot for any sub in a daily application), sub placement (firing up in a trunk to me meh not to mention a suitable enclosure), and double the motor strength ( cone area similar but more motor).
