18" BL in a trunk

If you want to run rear fill why not cut 2 holes in the rear shelf for air flow into the cabin and put speaker grills over them? Should be more then enough room to do that and not very hard.

i am wondering the same thing..im not sure if i should build the baffle, or leave it. i guess that calls for a little project.
i dont have any, only time i do is when i have no sub it...then i throw in the pioneers. but when i have a sub in it make a fairly noticable improvement in airflow which of course allows it to be louder. so i would atleast try it without the rears..and if it doesnt help, then put em back in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Yea let me know how that project goes cuz if its good...i will be doing the same thing. With my nine.1 i had no rear fill, but when that amp blew i put it back in cuz i was without bass for a long time. Now i got a sundown and my rear deck just jumps like crazy and makes some bad noises. I was thinkin takin the rear fill back out will let more air come through and stop that rear deck flex. Right now i stick my 200 disc cd case on the rear deck to stop all that flex ha ghetto i know. But if you ever get to doing that project let me know how it goes. And i think i'll prolly take out my rear fill soon.

yea thats a pretty ghetto method haha whatever works though. have ya taken the rear speakers out yet? i think you will be pleasantly supprised with the result

i am yet to try the little project to route the air but once the weather smartens up i should give it a try

oh and BUMPPPP i want more opinions on the box. if all goes well and i sell my apocalypse within a week or two, i will order the BL:fro:

I haven't taken my rear fill out yet, but i'm on spring break right now so i just took my back seat off. And let me say it gets alot louder. I like it i wish i could leave it this way. I need a new box anyways. Winter FTL but once the weather stays good i will be doing a project for a new box.

yea i wish i had a folding rear seat...would make my life a lot easier lol

and winter definatly ftl. it has snowed about two inches today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

What year/model is your car? I noticed you have the little door going into the trunk. I have a 96 SE and my back seat doesn't have that.

I really like the idea so far. It's always interesting seeing what people can come up with for cars like mine.

its a 95 se. its odd yours doesnt since its only a year apart

and thanks, i too enjoy seeing what people come up with and i hope all goes well with this build...and maybe inspire some other fellow GP owners hah //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yea i wish i had a folding rear seat too, but i dont. Thats why i just took it all off for the week. I get some good airflow now. I've been lookin at gettin a jeep cherokee though and that would help solve my problem of a trunk.

heres what i think will be the last design:*******: lol (yes i have said that a few times, i know)

once i get some money together i will be ordering the bl. i was suppose to be in vegas yesterday but didnt get that far east...so i wasnt able to pay a visit to the fi store

its 6.4 after port/sub displacement and is tuned to 35 hz with 93^2" of port.

sorry for the 7 pages and no actual build pics yet:laugh: atleast i now have a somewhat normal looking box thatshould fit/function well:)...i would be pretty retarted to just assume an 18 would fit in my trunk without planning ahead..

anyways heres the pic

alright i will be ordering the bl 18 soon and im just making sure i get the right options. my order is one dual 2 with cooling and universal options and is set up for daily. im wondering if i need the flatwind coil and is there any downside to getting it.

well, i just got off the phone with scott at fi. the BL is now payed for and you guys dont have to bare to see anymore cardboard planning props lol

so next time you hear about this, it should be a build log...with mdf and all:eek:

and then...many many pics videos
