I heard of a trick that involves wrapping the post that the latch connects on to with electrical tape, makes the connection tighter. I have yet to get around to sound deadening, though. That's up next on my list after front stage upgrades

Meant to mention that earlier, good call mazda. If the latch is attached to a plate that bolts to the trunk you can pull that off and elongate the mounting holes so it pulls down tighter. Did that to my altima years ago and it helped a lot...
